Perspective Piece

Tried out the 3 point perspective layout for the first time, It was interesting to try and define the plains along the paths of the buildings and see how the light would shape objects.

Frank Frazetta

It's hard to even describe how influential Frank Frazetta was to the fantasy community across all branches. His imagery single handedly defined the Sword and Sorcery genre! After delving into his history It was interesting to find out he could have been a professional baseball player and used Micky mouse paints.

Cannon Project

In this project we were tasked to create a cannon and take it through the production pipeline process. So to start we set up our scale and reference to the human body.

I then decided to go with an NASA themed concept, so I gathered reference and set up scale with image planes.

These proved helpful in both making the scale acceptable and design a little more cohesive.

Then, I pushed the sculpt into Unreal with a variant to see how it would look in the engine!

I'm pretty happy with the results!

Robo Silhouettes

This week we were tasked with creating dynamic silhouettes for a character type of our choosing!

So I chose robots, or Robo's for short
Image result for robot
wassup?
Okay, not like that, but I decided to base them on fun low poly enemy bots (or friends depending on your taste)

I wanted to make sure that each one of these dudes had some kinda personality, even if they are a Dust Bot!

Brian Froud

This week we were tasked with delving into our kidhoods with Brian Froud. After spending 2 seconds searching through his content, it was immediately realized how much this person shaped my childhood. His world was one that had immense gravitation among many artists that would create content for the games (board games and otherwise). The sincerity in his characters faces shows a level of storytelling that moved beyond words. I hope one day I can make a piece that can tell a scene half as well as him.

Minecraft inspired level

This week we worked on a Minecraft inspired level, I chose to do a sunset mining grotto. I'm not super familiar with the franchise, but after seeing some screen shots, It was fun to play with the mapping and texturing of the cubes.

Then setting up the texture
